Why it started

Seven years ago I quit coffee. Not for health reasons. Not for a trend. I quit because coffee had become something I consumed rather than something I experienced. I wanted a rhythm that fit my life, not the other way around. Around the same time, I fell in love with someone who grew up in a family where matcha was not a product. It was a practice. That distinction changed everything. I started reading. Then studying. I became a certified Tea Advisor because I needed a framework for what I was tasting, not to add a credential, but because the knowledge was genuinely useful. What I kept noticing was this: the questions people ask about wine, where is it from, what is the harvest year, how was it made, nobody was asking those questions about tea. Especially not in Montreal. That felt like a gap worth filling. Not with a story, but with tea.
